Turning Insights into Action
Hello, readers and fellow Praxians! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season. Despite being under the weather this past week, I still had the opportunity to learn about some fascinating topics.
You need a Second Brain
During one of our calls, my mentor Brandy introduced me to the concept of building a "second brain." This system organizes notes in a way that makes it more likely you’ll find and use them when needed. It has four general sections, collectively known as PARA:
Project - Projects you currently have on your plate
Areas - Areas you want to improve in
Resources - Materials you’ve collected on various topics.
Archives - Finished or inactive projects
(Check out a short video on the subject here)
Discovering this concept was serendipitous because one of my tasks this week was creating a swipe file for copywriting. This file contains screenshots, blog posts, and articles to reference for future projects. It fits seamlessly into the Resources section of my second brain!
Copywriting and Marketing
This was the final week of the copywriting module, so much of my focus was on creating content to showcase what I’ve learned. One key task was writing a blog post to feature on my website. Here are some principles I applied while writing it:
Value-Focused Writing: Ensure every piece of content provides meaningful value to the reader.
Short and Skimmable: Break up large blocks of text with images, lists, and varied formats to make the content easy to scan.
Be Specific: Include concrete examples of what I’ve learned and created.

Next week, I’ll begin a new module for the remainder of the month: Marketing: Growth and Analytics. Unlike the Content Marketing module, this one is more technical. It focuses on analyzing data to determine whether marketing efforts are effective.
